Fractional & interim leadership
Fractional & interim executive
Senior C-level capability on a part-time basis: the judgement, network and operating discipline of someone who has held the seat, without the salary, equity and long notice period of a permanent hire.
In short
A fractional executive gives you senior C-level capability part-time. Action Is Now provides fractional and interim CMO, CEO and COO leadership: not a strategy that is written and handed over, but an operator who takes the seat, runs the function and stays accountable for the result.
Fractional versus interim: which one you need
The two models solve different problems and it is worth being precise.
- Fractional means part-time and ongoing. A fractional CMO might work two or three days a week for several months, owning the function while the company is too early or too lean to justify a full-time hire.
- Interim means full-time and temporary. When a critical seat falls vacant, interim management puts an experienced person in the chair fast and keeps the business moving while you decide on the permanent answer.
The roles we cover
Fractional CMO
Part-time marketing leadership for companies that need a strategy and a functioning engine, not just campaign execution. Run at the largest scale: a €120M budget at LeoVegas.
Fractional CEO
Senior leadership for owners who need strategy, P&L ownership and execution without hiring a full-time chief executive.
Fractional COO
Operating discipline for companies where the constraint is delivery, cash and process rather than strategy.
Interim management
A senior operator in place within days to cover a vacant seat, lead a critical phase or steady a function during transition.
Why an operator, not an adviser
There is a real difference between someone who has carried the number and someone who has only advised on it. We have run a €120 million marketing budget, delivered €50 million of incremental revenue in under a year, grown a market by 500 percent and led a company turnaround as CEO. When you bring in a fractional executive, you want someone who has made the hard calls under pressure and lived with the consequences.
What you actually get
A fractional executive is not advice on a retainer. It is a leader doing the job: owning the function and its results, setting priorities and holding the team to them, making the hard calls a busy founder keeps deferring, and building the systems and people so the function keeps working after the engagement ends. The handover is part of the brief from day one.
Sectors where this works best
Fractional leadership travels across industries, but sector context shortens the path. We work most effectively in iGaming, SaaS, e-commerce, manufacturing SMEs, scale-ups and defence tech.

Frequently asked questions
What is a fractional executive?
A senior leader who works part-time, owning a function such as marketing, operations or the chief executive role, giving you C-level capability without a full-time cost or commitment.
What is the difference between fractional and interim?
Fractional is part-time and ongoing; interim is full-time and temporary, suited to covering a vacant seat or leading a defined phase quickly.
How many days a week does a fractional executive work?
It varies with the mandate, commonly two to three days a week, scaled to what the company needs.
Is a fractional executive cheaper than a full-time hire?
Usually yes, because you pay only for the time you need and avoid the full salary, equity and long-term commitment, while still getting senior capability.
