Generational handover

Family Business Succession Management

The handover from founder to next generation is the riskiest moment in a family company. We run the business through it.

In short

Family business succession management means putting an experienced operator in charge during the generational handover. We keep the company performing, build the management structure the next generation needs, and stay until the new leadership can run it alone.

Why successions fail

Most problems are operational, not legal:

  • The founder holds every key relationship and decision.
  • There is no second management line.
  • The heirs are not ready, or not aligned.
  • Customers and banks lose confidence during the transition.

What we do

We take an operating role, map what only the founder knows, build a management team and a plan, and coach the successor in the seat. The founder steps back on a timeline everyone agreed.

An operator, not an observer

As CMO of LeoVegas we ran a EUR 120M marketing budget, generated over EUR 50M of incremental revenue in under twelve months and lifted EBITA by 18 percent, work that helped drive the MGM acquisition and an exit above EUR 607M. Leading an Italian market, we took revenue from EUR 3M to EUR 18M in under a year. Earlier we founded and grew Optimized Group, sold to Digitouch in 2016.

How we work

01
Diagnose

We map decisions, relationships and risks held by the founder.

02
Structure

We put a management team and governance in place.

03
Lead

We run the business while the successor grows into the role.

04
Exit

We step out once the new leadership delivers alone.

Frequently asked questions

What is a family business succession manager?

A senior operator who runs or co-runs the company during the generational handover, so performance holds while ownership and leadership change.

When should succession planning start?

Ideally three to five years before the founder steps back. If it is already urgent, we can step in within weeks.

Do you replace the lawyers and accountants?

No. They handle the legal and tax side. We handle the business: people, customers, plan and results.

Can you work with Italian family companies?

Yes. We are based in Milan and work in Italian and English.

Tell us the goal. We make it happen.

We deploy senior operator firepower and produce massive results. No excuses, just results.
